To use a mobile phone in Ecuador it must be compatible with the GSM 850 standard and your operator must have a roaming agreement with Movistar. If your GSM mobile phone is not compatible, you can access Movistar’s roaming service with your same mobile number borrowing a compatible mobile phone at “Movistar welcome center” in Quito’s Airport.
